Lightroom Presets: The Essentials

These are my go-to Lightroom presets for general travel editing.  Named for different photography scenarios, you’ll find a preset for every situation here.  And the best part?  You can easily apply them to an image similar to a filter on Instagram.

Please note, there are lots of variables to think of when picking the best preset.  Lighting, contrast, colors, subject matter.  These presets are a great foundation for your editing, but you may need to still adjust your settings for your desired effect.  Additionally, I shoot my photos in RAW (with a .jpg backup) which offers more editing options when in post-processing.  If you’re not yet shooting in RAW, keep in mind that your camera is making some editing choices on its own with those .jpg files.
