In March 2023, I embarked on a journey of a lifetime. My destination: Antarctica. Delays and deliberations were conquered as I set sail from Ushuaia on a small expedition vessel, embracing the unknown of the icy wilderness.
Why Antarctica?
Achieving the goal of setting foot on all seven continents by my 40th birthday was the realization of a dream that has fueled my wanderlust since childhood. The aspiration to explore as much of the Earth as humanly possible has been a guiding force throughout my life. But, truthfully, one I didn’t realize I could even achieve until I was in college. As a child, I had a dream of visiting the farthest reaches of our planet, with Antarctica seeming like a destination that might forever remain out of reach. However, as that day in March approached, I found myself packing my gear for Antarctica, and almost in disbelief that in only a few short days, I’d be fulfilling not only a bucket list goal, but the dream of a lifetime. The sheer enormity of realizing a dream once deemed unattainable was nothing short of life-changing.
